About:
The White Plains High School hockey program is making a difference beyond the rink this season, taking part in five incredible charity games to support important causes. Through these events, their players are not only competing but also giving back to the community in a meaningful way.
Hockey Fights Cancer Nights – White Plains is proud to participate in three games dedicated to fighting cancer, sponsored by Fox Lane High School, Pearl River High School, and Ryetown (with their 7th-8th grade team). These special nights bring awareness and support to those battling cancer, reminding us that hockey is more than just a game—it’s a family.
Morgan’s Message – Mental health matters. The team hosted a game in honor of Morgan’s Message, a foundation that raises awareness for student-athlete mental health. By breaking the stigma and promoting open conversations, we stand together in support of those struggling in silence.
Shoulder Check for Mental Health – Sponsored by North Rockland High School, this initiative focuses on mental health awareness within the hockey community. It’s a reminder to always “check in” on teammates and support one another, both on and off the ice.
At White Plains, they believe in using their platform for more than just competition. These games are an opportunity to unite with fellow teams, raise awareness, and support causes that impact so many lives.
Thank you to all our players, families, and supporters who make these nights so meaningful. Let’s keep the momentum going—both in hockey and in giving back!
