About:
WIEagles field hockey team has teamed up with FCSDSports to make Monday, Sept. 17th Game games at IHS a fundraiser for the CURE Childhood Cancer Assoc.
The girls have been actively involved in raising awareness and funds for this cause. CURE Childhood Cancer Association is a nationally recognized innovator in peer to peer support for families with children diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders. Since 1976, CURE has been the forerunner in developing the concept of parent advocacy, long-term educational assistance and peer-to-peer support. CURE encourages and assists children, young adults and their families in Rochester and the surrounding region to realistically face diagnosis and treatment cope with their fears and believe in the possibility of life after cancer.
The teams have helped design t-shirts and posters for the event to raise support and awareness. They have been selling the shirts at school and at home to friends and family to raise support and awareness for the cause.
The t-shirts will also be sold at the game.
Proceeds from the t-shirt sales and concessions will be donated to CURE Childhood Cancer Assoc.
