About:
It has become an annual cancer fundraising game between Williamsville North & East each year as East Coach Chris Gruarin is a good friend of mine.
Last year we raised over $1000 for Susan G Komen foundation with our fundraising efforts during the night of the game, selling pink beads and ribbons, asking for donations from the fans, etc. This year we decided to split it up between Susan G Komen foundation and also Courage of Carly fund, benefiting kids with cancer through Roswell park.
We have a young man, 7th grader at one of our feeder middle schools Casey Middle, Tyler Kruse who was diagnosed with Leukemia in December. He and his family were at the game this year, and our teams wore Tyler Tough T-shirts instead of our normal Jerseys. It was a great night and the community showed out to support Tyler and Breast Cancer as well.
Pictures attached are the varsity teams in their “Tyler Tough” t shirts & then jv teams pictured with their pink socks for breast cancer. It was about 80 -100 kids that were involved in the varsity, jv or modified teams who also purchased Tyler tough shirts to support Courage of Carly Fun. First picture is Coach Max Zimmerman & Will East head coach Chris Gruarin with Chuck Collard, Carly’s father and co founder of Courage of Carly .
