About:
The team hosted a bake sale for their annual pink game that raised $450 dollars from the girls and their families baked goods that they made and donated.
They also participated in Support-A-Walk for Support Connection where the girls raised $1,410!
On October 2nd the varsity and JV program with coaches and families walked at FDR park in Yorktown to spread awareness and show support for others battling or overcoming breast and ovarian cancer.
In addition to the Pink Game, they held their annual SPCA tournament in early September which hosts 4 schools (one being their own). Both tournament days the girls and their families along with other teams brought donations for the local SPCA or gave monetary donations to then buy needed items from their wishlist. They then brought the items to the SPCA for delivery.
“We 22 field players but a senior manager as well so we say 23 girls on our team. They have spent many hours baking and helping to decorate as well as set up and break down the events. The walk was about 3 hours in total between meeting beforehand, walking, and having a team talk afterward. They also had to ask family and friends for donations on their own time after school and practice for Support-A-Walk.”– Coach Courtney Hyndman
