About:
This year’s Battle of Yorktown lacrosse exhibition, held on Veterans Day at Granite Knolls Park, was an unforgettable day of sportsmanship, competition, and gratitude. Hosted by the Yorktown Varsity Boys Lacrosse team, the event welcomed seven other high schools, including Lakeland/Panas, Iona Prep, Fordham Prep, Horace Greeley, Peckham, Stepinac, and West Genesee.
The day was filled with intense lacrosse action as these talented teams came together for a spirited competition, all while honoring the service and sacrifice of our veterans. The atmosphere was electric, with players and fans alike sharing in the pride of the sport and the community spirit that defines events like this.
One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to give back. The Yorktown Varsity Boys Lacrosse team made a special contribution to the Yorktown VFW, expressing their gratitude for the veterans who have served our country. It was a meaningful way to combine the love of the game with giving back to those who have given so much for our freedom.
We are incredibly proud of our athletes for organizing such an impactful event and grateful to all who participated. It’s not just about the game—it’s about coming together as a community and recognizing those who make a difference in our lives. Thank you to all the teams who joined us and to the Yorktown VFW for their continued service.
