About:
The Yorktown High School Varsity Girls Tennis team proved that teamwork extends far beyond the court this season. In a heartfelt act of community service, the team donated nearly $1,200—raised entirely from their own car wash fundraiser—to Cal’s Angels, an organization dedicated to supporting children and families battling childhood cancer.
The donation was presented during Friday night’s football game, where the athletes were recognized for their commitment to making an impact. Their effort not only raised critical funds, but also brought greater awareness to Cal’s Angels’ mission as part of the “Going Gold” initiative for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
This project embodies what it means to lead with compassion. The student-athletes worked together, rallied their community, and used their platform to shine a light on a cause that touches countless families.
