Floral Park Leo Club’s community service highlights

June 20, 2017 By Team Up 4 Community

The Leo Club at Floral Park Memorial High School recently ran a successful food/personal-care item drive for Long Island Cares. In addition, the club purchased and donated a goat from the Heifer International Organization to help meet the nutritional needs of an impoverished family in Africa.
During the last few months, members of the club volunteered their services at the Floral Park Recreation Center’s annual Easter Egg Hunt and the Women’s Expo held at the high school. Most recently, they assisted with the set-up for the Floral Park Conservation Society’s annual Centennial Gardens Party the evening before the Belmont Stakes. Teacher Kurt Brechtlein is the adviser of the club, which is affiliated with the Floral Park Lion’s Club.
