Hofstra Hosts Clinic With Let All The Children Play Foundation

April 23, 2015 By Team Up 4 Community

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra University Department of Athletics hosted a sports clinic for the Let All The Children Play Foundation and some very special participants in the David S. Mack Fitness Center on Sunday, April 19. More than 50 guests spent the morning with Hofstra student-athletes from the Hofstra Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Volleyball teams. Participants were taken through drills and games that stressed the importance of exercise, teamwork and, most importantly, creating an atmosphere of inclusion through sport.

The event started off with a welcome from Hofstra University Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Services and Life Skills Development James Lally and LATCPF Director of Operations Shea Shapiro. Participants were then broken up into three groups and spent the next hour and a half playing soccer, basketball and volleyball; meeting new friends along the way. After the event concluded, guests were invited to enjoy the Pride Baseball and Softball games that were taking place on campus.

The Hofstra University Department of Athletics would like to thank the Let All The Children Play Foundation for all of their hard work organizing what has become an annual sports clinic. Hosting this event has been a tremendous opportunity for our student-athletes to give back and share their love of sports. We look forward to our continued partnership in the future.
