In conjunction with Red Ribbon Week, students in Deauville Garden West Elementary School in the Copiague School District participated in the school’s Run Against Drugs on Oct. 28.
Leading up to the run, students in kindergarten through fifth grade learned about the importance of making healthy choices and the negative effects of drugs and alcohol during their physical education classes. Following the quarter-mile run, students signed the Run Against Drugs banner and received a Red Ribbon Week-themed pencil provided by the PTA.
