BOCA RATON, Fla. (Mar. 27, 2017) – The Molloy softball team conducted a free instructional clinic while in Florida for the PFX Spring Games. Over 100 youth player s ages 8-14 from the West Boca Raton Diamonds Softball Association and Boca Impact Travel teams were in attendance.
“This was a great opportunity for our student-athletes to give back to the young ladies who will someday follow in their footsteps,” said Head Softball Coach Susan Cassidy-Lyke. “It was great to see our players step up and share what they have learned along the way in the hopes of making someone else better.”
The members of the softball team demonstrated proper fielding techniques to the players and provided the coaches with new drills to use with their teams going forward. Afterwards, the youth players had a chance to sit and talk with the student-athletes and hear about their experiences playing at the collegiate level and the impact that it has had in their development.
“I loved being able to help the girls learn and develop their skills at the clinic,” remarked freshman first baseman Mikaela Tribby (Boca Raton, Fla.). “It was something special to be able to give back to the softball community that I grew up in.”
