With jump ropes in hand, Hampton Bays Elementary School third- and fourth-grade students raised more than $1,000 for the American Heart Association during the school’s 17th annual Jump-a-Thon program.
During the event, which was held on Feb. 12, students jumped rope for an entire gym period and were awarded prizes for completing individual goals. The schoolwide fundraising amount was secured through donations the students received from family and friends prior to the program.
