In honor of American Heart Month, students of Cornwell Avenue and George Washington Elementary schools participated in the American Heart Association’s Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart programs to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease.
During the weeklong celebration, students were able to exercise their heart muscles by jumping rope, playing Double Dutch and basketball with their classmates. In addition, they learned about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, exercises for their heart muscles and raising money for the American Heart Association.
