GLEN COVE, N.Y. (Sept. 21, 2015) – On Sunday, the LIU Post women’s lacrosse team volunteered its time with the senior community of Sunrise of Glen Cove to participate in Halloween-themed arts and crafts.
The Pioneers took part in painting witch hats and pumpkins, while also making and decorating paper maché bowls.
“Visiting the Sunrise nursing home was a great experience for our team,” said Pioneers’ senior defender/midfielder Honey Roche (Centerport, N.Y.). “It was a fun way to get to know the community and learn about their lives. We were able to put a smile on their faces and had so much fun doing it. Hearing them ask when we could come back touched all of our hearts and we are truly looking forward to visiting them again in the future.”
