Project Seams is a t-shirt fundraiser donating all profits to AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention) in order to raise money for suicide awareness. In November of 2023, my fellow teammates and I lost our catcher, Jordan Kenna, to her battle with suicide. Jordan loved softball more than anything. We wanted to keep her memory alive and also bring awareness to how devastating losing someone to suicide is. Everything isn’t always as it seams. Check in. Ask for help.
By raising money for AFSP we are funding a program that provides resources that will help save lives, destigmatize mental health, and support suicide awareness.
On April 17th, my school team, Westhampton Beach Varsity Softball, played in honor of Jordan Kenna to show their support. With the help of the team, Project Seams was able to raise over $360 for AFSP. Pitching in her honor was truly a moment that healed my heart.
Not only has this been an healing experience for my travel team and I but I am happy to say that this has been a healing experience for all those who have been affected by suicide. I am happy to be able to make a difference in people’s lives.
