About:
Gratitude. Generosity. Service.
These values filled the halls of Bishop Feehan once again as the school community came together for its annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive, a cherished tradition that continues to make a meaningful impact for local families.
Thanks to the kindness of students, families, faculty, and staff, 65 fully stocked Thanksgiving baskets filled with essential and comforting non-perishable items—are now on their way to households in need. Each basket represents far more than food; it reflects hope, compassion, and the Feehan commitment to giving back.
This schoolwide effort truly engages every student. Each homeroom receives a list of about 30 items—from canned pumpkin and vegetables to cranberry sauce and other staples. Students sign up to contribute 1–2 items and also donate $2, which helps provide a gift card toward purchasing a turkey for each family receiving a basket.
At the center of this operation is the National Honor Society, whose 150 student members take the lead in organizing, motivating, and keeping the project running smoothly. NHS students deliver empty baskets to classrooms, check in throughout the week to encourage participation, and, on the day before Thanksgiving, transport the completed baskets to the auditorium for final assembly.
The majority of Feehan’s NHS members are also student-athletes, many of them multi-sport competitors who apply the same dedication, teamwork, and leadership they show on the field to their service efforts. Out of the seven NHS officers, all participate in at least one sport, with several competing across multiple seasons.
Their leadership helped rally the entire Feehan community, turning a simple act of giving into something much larger, a collective expression of mercy, compassion, and unity during the holiday season.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making a profound difference in the lives of others.
