About:
Players from SUSA Academy are stepping up to support families in need through a community donation drive benefiting The Sharing Table.
Sophomores Emma Mascaro and Juliet Vafeas are leading the initiative, organizing a collection of essential household items that will help local families facing food insecurity and financial hardship.
The drive is collecting a variety of non-perishable food items and everyday household supplies, including dish soap, sponges, tissues, cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, and personal care items such as soap and shampoo. Donations can be dropped off in the lobby of the SUSA Orlin & Cohen Sports Complex, where members of the school community have been encouraged to contribute.
The collection will run through March 23, and students who participate can earn community service hours while supporting an important cause.
Through initiatives like this, students at SUSA Academy continue to demonstrate leadership and compassion, showing how young people can come together to support their neighbors and strengthen their community.
