About:
Students from East Islip High School recently demonstrated the power of community service through a Winter Warmth Drive organized by the school’s National Honor Society.
The initiative brought together students and families from across the East Islip Union Free School District, including support from several elementary schools, to collect essential winter clothing for individuals and families in need during the cold Long Island winter season.
Community members generously donated items such as jackets, gloves, hats, scarves, socks, and vests for both children and adults. The drive resulted in a significant collection of winter clothing, helping ensure that local families have the resources they need to stay warm during the colder months.
All donated items were delivered to St. Mary’s Church, where they will be distributed to families in the community.
“The Winter Warmth Drive was a profound example of service and teamwork,” said National Honor Society adviser Nicole Ingram. “We thank everyone for their contributions and for making this project a success.”
Through initiatives like this, students at East Islip High School continue to demonstrate leadership, compassion, and a strong commitment to supporting their community.
