The Mineola community gathered on March 26 for the annual ‘mINNneola Macaroni’ fundraiser, a spirited evening of food and fellowship hosted by the Mineola High School Student Service Center. This year’s event successfully raised $2,700 to benefit the Mary Brennan INN.
The Mary Brennan INN is a Long Island-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential services to individuals and families facing hunger, homelessness and poverty. The funds raised will directly support their mission of providing a lifeline to those in need across the region.
During the event, Mineola High School learners took the lead in serving a variety of pasta dishes, salads and desserts. All food and beverages were generously donated by Uncle Bacala’s Restaurant in Garden City Park. The evening saw a wonderful turnout, with guests including district administration, faculty and students, as well as senior citizens from the community.
The ‘mINNneola Macaroni’ dinner is a signature initiative of the Mineola High School Student Service Center, a hub dedicated to fostering empathy and leadership through civic engagement. Each year, the learners contribute thousands of hours of community service, reinforcing the district’s commitment to graduating compassionate global citizens who value service to others.
