About:
Calhoun High School Softball and Seaford High School Softball came together for an unforgettable day focused on far more than softball during their Autism & Neurodiversity Acceptance Fundraiser Games.
Centered around inclusion, acceptance, and community, the event brought athletes, families, coaches, and supporters together to celebrate every player and every smile. From the varsity matchup to the inspiring Challenger Tee-Ball game, the field was filled with energy, teamwork, laughter, and support.
One of the day’s most memorable moments came from the Challenger athletes, whose enthusiasm and joy reminded everyone what sports are truly about. The partnership between the Calhoun and Seaford programs continues to showcase the powerful impact athletics can have in creating welcoming and inclusive environments for all students.
The event also helped raise support for Calhoun Connections, with tremendous contributions from school staff, boosters, volunteers, and community members who helped make the day possible.
Special thanks were given to the Calhoun Sports Boosters, volunteers who provided food and event support, the custodial team, paraprofessionals, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to create such a meaningful experience.
The day served as a powerful reminder that athletics can bring communities together, create opportunities for inclusion, and make an impact that extends far beyond the scoreboard.
