During the Oct. 26 meeting of the board of education, 37 Bayport-Blue Point High School students were recognized for their participation in the Community Service Recognition Program.
The Community Service Recognition Program was developed by Principal Robert Haas last school year and requires that students complete a minimum of 10 hours of service to their community. There are four program categories: 10-19 hours (community service certificate), 20-29 hours (bronze), 30-39 hours (silver) and 40 plus hours (gold). Students can begin accumulating hours for the school year on July 1 preceding the beginning of school.
