The Chappaqua Varsity Boys Basketball team continued its commitment to community service on December 29 with a meaningful visit to The Pantry in Mount Kisco, NY. Fifteen team members, including players and a manager, donated 35 pounds of food collected through their cereal drive and volunteered an hour of their time to support the organization’s daily operations.
During the visit, the team helped unpackage food deliveries and restock shelves, gaining hands-on experience while supporting local families facing food insecurity. This marked the second year the team has volunteered at The Pantry, and they hope to return again later this season.
“The team continues to build a connection with a very important local community organization,” shared a parent of a team member. “They understand the growing issue of food insecurity in our area and learned about how The Pantry operates—from food donations and purchasing to inventory and distribution for families in need.”
The experience reinforced the idea that leadership and teamwork extend beyond the court. The Boys Basketball program remains committed to giving back and making a positive impact within the local community.
