The Bridgehampton Union Free School District’s National Senior and Junior Honor Societies won Best High School for the New York Blood Center’s small division category. Students along with National Junior and Senior Honor Society adviser Marie Bouzos-Reilly, collected more than 50 pints of blood between two blood drives this year in October and April.
The New York Blood Center’s competition was sponsored by the NY Yankees who invited students to a game on June 5 where they were honored for their participation.
The school’s valedictorian Kimberly Villa was also awarded a $500 scholarship from the New York Blood Center for her efforts in collecting over 50 donations and for demonstrating leadership, volunteerism, and community service in the planning and organization of the high school blood drive.
