Photo caption: In recognition of National Diabetes Month, members of the Westhampton Beach Middle School Student Council donated $215 to the American Diabetes Association, which focuses on research, advocacy and educational programs. The students raised the donation by selling customized blue wristbands.

Photo caption: Students from Southampton High School’s Rotary Interact Club and Southampton Elementary School’s Rotary Early Act Club recently helped members of the Southampton Rotary Club fill more than 200 boxes with family meals that will be distributed to families in need by Heart of the Hamptons. Elementary students also decorated the boxes to be donated.

Photo caption: In collaboration with the Farmingville Fire Department, Tamarac Elementary School’s PTA organized a candy drive. Students brought in unopened, excess Halloween candy to be sent to troops overseas. Additionally, some students created cards for military members, thanking them for serving the country.

Rocky Point Middle School students decorated seasonal grocery bags to hold the cans, boxes and packages of nonperishable food items for local families during their annual Thanksgiving food drive.

Students brought in, gathered, sorted and then packaged the items for breakfast, lunch and dinner in each bag for local food pantries. 

The items will be delivered to the food pantry at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Rocky Point.
