For the past several years, the CF football program has made it a tradition to sell discount cards and dedicate part of the proceeds toward wearing special uniforms for one game while honoring or promoting a meaningful local cause. Over the years, the team has recognized the military, raised awareness for cancer, supported mental health initiatives, and, most recently, paid tribute to first responders.
This year’s spotlight game will take place on Friday, September 19, against Windsor and will shine a light on two impactful programs at Catholic Charities: Family Care Management and Gateway.
On game night, CF players will take the field in all black uniforms, while Windsor will suit up in all white. In the lead-up to the event, both programs sold special shirts and hoodies, with all proceeds benefiting the Catholic Charities initiatives. While apparel sales have now ended, fans are encouraged to continue showing their support: CF fans are asked to wear black, and Windsor fans to wear white.
About the Programs:
-
Family Care Management – Provides assistance to families with school, housing, health care, job training, and financial needs.
-
Gateway – Offers case management, individual support, and group programs that help build life skills such as parenting and managing emotions.
The Black Out game promises to be more than just a matchup on the field—it’s a chance for both communities to come together, support their teams, and contribute to causes that make a lasting difference.
