East Rockaway School District congratulates the East Rockaway Jr./Sr. High School community on their successful Thanksgiving Food Drive.
Spearheaded by the school’s Key Club, the annual food drive collected a total of 3,340 pounds of non-perishable food items, which were donated to Long Island Cares Food Bank as part of their “Adopt-A-Family” program.
Thanks to the generosity of our students and their awareness of the ongoing food insecurity issues throughout our community, this food drive total toppled last year’s record and will help put food on the table for an estimated 167 families in need.
