About:
On Thursday, February 12th and Friday, February 13th, Bay Shore High School Athletes Helping Athletes Club led by HS teachers, Mary Drago and David Mayo, and 25 varsity student-athletes, visited the 7th and 8th grade physical education classes at Bay Shore Middle School. During the trip the high school students, discussed the first pillar of the program – motivation.
Each of the student athletes shared their story of how athletics has helped to motivate and inspire them not only in the field of interscholastic athletics, but academically in the classroom.
The students presented and participated in a number of activities focusing on teamwork & communication. The middle school students had the opportunity to ask the upperclassmen questions about themselves, athletics, extracurricular activities and the high school.
It was a fruitful experience for all involved.
