About:
The baseball players showcased a remarkable sense of community spirit by volunteering at a children’s garden cleanup event. Despite having fulfilled their community service requirements, these athletes chose to spend their precious day off giving back to the community that supports them.
Their initiative goes beyond the baseball field, reflecting a deep understanding of the importance of making a positive impact. By rolling up their sleeves and getting involved, they demonstrated a profound sense of responsibility and empathy.
As they worked together to tidy up the children’s garden, their actions exemplified the values instilled within our team. Not only are they honing their skills on the diamond, but they’re also cultivating a sense of citizenship and compassion that will serve them well beyond their playing days.
This selfless act not only beautifies the community but also sets a powerful example for others to follow. It underscores the notion that there’s always time to give back and make a difference in the lives of others, no matter how busy life gets.
To the baseball players: Your dedication to both the game and the community is truly commendable. Your efforts embody the spirit of teamwork and service, and we’re proud to have you represent us both on and off the field.
During the cleanup, six players volunteered, with most having already fulfilled their community service requirement for graduation but choosing to volunteer nonetheless. They spent 1.5 hours cleaning out mulch beds, spreading new mulch, and transplanting plants.
“It has been a tradition that the Baseball team helps out at the children’s garden in the community which is located at the town’s sports complex. The tradition has been in place since before I became Coach and I wanted to continue this great tradition.” Coach Robert Savoy
