About:
Concord-Carlisle Boys Hockey brought its school and local community together through a meaningful clothing drive in partnership with Cradles to Crayons and the Boston Bruins PJ Drive, focusing on providing comfort, dignity, and care to children in need.
From February 1 through February 23, the Patriots hosted a pajama drive with a clear, compassionate goal: to provide new pajamas to children experiencing homelessness or living in low-income situations. New pajamas—along with socks and underwear—are essential items that offer warmth, security, and a sense of normalcy for kids facing difficult circumstances.
Student-athletes took the lead in promoting the initiative, posting flyers throughout the school and around town to raise awareness and encourage participation. The team also shared an online wishlist and QR code, making it easy for families, classmates, and community members to contribute directly. All donated items were delivered to Cradles to Crayons for distribution.
The impact exceeded expectations. By the end of the drive, Concord-Carlisle Boys Hockey had donated 130 pajamas, 106 pairs of socks, and 40 pieces of underwear, surpassing its original goal of 100 pajamas. The results reflected the strength of a community united around a common purpose.
In addition to collecting donations, the entire program participated in a volunteer shift at the Giving Factory in Newton. Student-athletes worked together on quality control, sorted clothing by size, and assembled complete outfits—gaining firsthand experience in how donations are prepared and delivered to children in need.
Through leadership, teamwork, and service, Concord-Carlisle Boys Hockey demonstrated that the impact of high school athletics extends far beyond the ice. By combining fundraising, hands-on volunteering, and strong community partnerships, the Patriots showed how student-athletes can lead with compassion and create lasting change.
