About:
Students, families, and staff at Cotter Schools recently demonstrated the power of collective compassion during the school’s annual “10 Days of Giving” food drive. The initiative brought the community together in support of local families facing food insecurity, resulting in an impressive donation of 1,648 pounds of food and $938.16. The drive is hosted each year by the Student Council at the 9–12 grade level.
Throughout the campaign, Cotter students and their families stepped up to make a meaningful difference by contributing non-perishable food items and monetary donations. The effort reflected a strong culture of service and generosity, highlighting how individual acts of kindness can come together to create a significant community impact.
Food drives like this not only help provide essential resources to those in need, but also teach valuable lessons in empathy, leadership, and civic responsibility. By participating in the “10 Days of Giving,” Cotter students gained firsthand experience in giving back and supporting neighbors within their community.
The success of the initiative is a testament to the spirit of the Cotter community — one that continues to prioritize compassion, service, and making a positive difference.
