About:

OAKDALE, N.Y.- The Dowling College Athletic Department held their second annual “Night Out on the Golden Lions” event this evening in the Curtin Student Center on the Oakdale Campus.

“I am so proud of our student-athletes for spending their Friday night giving back to the local community,” said Vice President for Athletics Melody Cope. “I am confident that they enjoyed the evening just as much as the participants.”

This event gives local parents the opportunity of a night off as Dowling College student-athletes and staff provided their children with fun activities and entertainment. The kids took part in activities such as Winter Bingo, Just Dance, arts and crafts and plenty of physical games.

“It’s always great to reach out the community and events like this are important to our athletic department,” stated sophomore men’s basketball student-athlete. “The kids had a great time and we are glad that we are able to establish a family environment with the local community.”

This year, 10 East Coast Conference schools joined the Golden Lions as they hosted “Night Out” events on their respective campuses.
