About:
Students in Seskoschools’ 9th grade service learning group, CREW 2029, combined classroom learning with hands-on service by supporting the Salvation Army through volunteerism.
As part of their service learning experience, students first learned about the programs and resources the Salvation Army provides to individuals and families in need. They then put that knowledge into action by volunteering their time through bell ringing and gift wrapping, helping raise funds to support the organization’s important community services.
This experience allowed students to see firsthand how charitable organizations operate and how individual efforts contribute to a larger mission. By actively participating, CREW 2029 members developed a deeper understanding of service, responsibility, and the impact they can have when they step up to help others.
The project reflects Seskoschools’ commitment to service learning and youth leadership, empowering students to move beyond the classroom and make a meaningful difference in their community at an early age.
