About:
The holiday season was filled with purpose and heart thanks to the incredible efforts of the Forest Lake Area High School Student Council, whose members dedicated their time to multiple service projects supporting families and children both locally and beyond.
One of the season’s highlights was a special service project benefiting NICU parents at United Hospital in St. Paul. Student Council members gathered to decorate holiday cookies and assemble cookie platters, sharing comfort, joy, and kindness with families spending the holidays in the hospital. It was a meaningful night of service—and a reminder of the power of small acts of care.
Closer to home, Student Council also led its Annual Toy Drive in collaboration with Forest Lake FFA, supporting families in the Forest Lake area through the Anonymous Santa program. Thanks to the generosity of Ranger Nation, the drive was a tremendous success, ensuring local children experienced the joy of the holidays.
Service continued throughout the season with weekly activities that brought students together for good. On Tuesdays, members created holiday cards to spread cheer, while a Monday night meeting focused on packing birthday packs for the local food shelf—helping ensure every child can feel celebrated. The evening also included a potluck and games, strengthening connections while serving the community.
The Toy Drive offered multiple ways for the community to get involved, including donating new toys through first-hour classes, purchasing items from the Amazon wishlist, or contributing at home athletic events. Every donation stayed local, directly supporting children and families in need.
Through compassion, creativity, and commitment, Forest Lake Student Council continues to show what it means to lead with heart. Their service projects are more than activities—they are moments of impact that make the season brighter for so many.
