Twelve University of Florida student-athletes recently returned from a 10-day service and cultural immersion trip to the Dominican Republic that left a lasting mark on both the local communities and the athletes themselves.
During the trip, the Gators led sports clinics, connected with children and families, and embraced the rich history and beauty of the country through excursions to Los Tres Ojos National Park, Isla Saona, and more. They experienced firsthand how sports can break down barriers, create friendships, and inspire hope.
Representing gymnastics, softball, swimming & diving, and track & field, these student-athletes showed that the Gator spirit extends far beyond competition — it’s about leadership, compassion, and global citizenship.
