About:
Members from the Bay Shore Varsity, JV, and Middle School Baseball program teamed up to help support first responders. The program is closing in on $4,000 in donations, which goes directly to first responders in need. The program teamed up with Fund The First and their non-profit organization Fallen First Reserve.
The day started with some skills competitions including a fielding and accuracy throw, speed and base running, and a distance throw. At approximately 12:30 the main event kicked off and it was a great competition! The participants, which also included a few of the Lady Marauders softball team, broke up into six teams and competed over three rounds including tee, front toss, and standard pitch. Four of the 6 teams remained tight going into the final round where Senior Jordan Thompson’s team pulled away for the victory. The event was a huge success and the program is already preparing for next year hoping to make it even bigger and better.
A very special thanks to local vendor Marcony Pizzeria who donated 15 pizzas to feed the players.
The Bay Shore Baseball Program, under the leadership of Head Baseball Coach Chris Shiro, is proud to announce its upcoming event, “Home Runs For Heroes”, a Home Run Derby to raise funds for first responders and their families. This event will be held at the Bay Shore High School varsity field on Saturday, April 22nd at 12pm.
Our community’s first responders go above and beyond for us, and now it’s our turn to support them! The Bay Shore Baseball Program is committed to giving back to those who have given so much to our community, and we are asking for your help to meet and hopefully surpass our goal of $2,000 through our fundraiser –

All funds raised will be donated to the Fallen First Reserve, a non-profit organization that gives back to line of duty death families.
The “Home Runs For Heroes” event will feature three rounds of competition, with Middle School, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams paired up to compete. The winning team will receive an award and T-shirts for each sponsor of their group.
“We are excited to host this event and show our appreciation for our first responders,” said Head Baseball Coach Chris Shiro. “It’s important for us to give back to those who give so much to our community. We hope that the entire community will come out to support this great cause.”
This is a great opportunity to show our appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our first responders, and to come together as a community to support those who keep us safe.
