About:
My name is Bianca Pal and I am a Senior at Hopkinton High School. I am team captain and organizer for the HHS Polar Plunge Fundraiser. This is my second year spearheading this event.
The Polar Plunge is a Fundraiser for Special Olympic Athletes in our community. Every dollar raised directly supports year-round sports training and competition for athletes with disabilities in Massachusetts.
Last year, the Hopkinton High School team raised over $5,000 with 38 people participating. This year our team plunge will be held on Friday, March 18th at 3pm behind the Hopkinton Middle School. Just like last year, participants will bring a water bottle to dump on their heads for the plunge. I am beyond grateful for all the support we received!

————————-
We had an amazing Polar Plunge event this past Friday 3/18.
Hopkinton High School team raised $2,455 with 14 participants. In the past two years we have raised a total of $7,721 for Special Olympic Athletes in Massachusetts!
HHS is ranked number 5 on the Public/Private Schools leaderboard on the Polar Plunge MA website.
Preparation for this event took 3 weeks with a total of 12 hours put into the event. I hung posters around my high school, advertised my posts in the schools weekly newsletter announcements and advertised on the HHS athletics page on instagram.
I also sent individual and group emails constantly to people who joined our plunge last year and to all the people who are part of the Unified Programs.
This year was especially challenging to fundraise because we were in between unified sports seasons, (unified basketball is in the fall, unified track started yesterday) however, we were still able to successfully raise so much money this year.
