About:

Midnight Run is not a solution to homelessness. Our goal of Saint Dominic was to forge a bond between housed and homeless people by establishing a foundation of sharing and caring from which solutions may evolve. Through Midnight Run, students from Saint Dominic came to see the homeless as real people, not a commodity. And homeless men and women learned that many mainstream adults and teenagers have commitments and concerns that go beyond their own lives and families.

More than half of the students who participate in the event are our student athletes.

On Thursday, December 11th, 2014 teachers from St. Dominic High School will take about 40 students (25 of them being student athletes), mixed up of freshmen through seniors to enjoy the beautiful night.

The student athletes will be packing up 150 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, snacks, and drinks to feed the less fortunate.

Freshman Charlie Willis said, “It gave me a warm feeling inside knowing that I was helping the less fortunate and that they were going to eat my sandwich. “

Senior, Tess Boutros stated, “It was a great feeling to know that we are putting smiles on people’s faces during this time of the year and I was moved to tears.”

The Midnight Run is an unbelievable event, which brings joy and happiness to all those involved in the giving actions that took place.
