About:

Mt. Everett Hockey team volunteered the weekend of February 4th & 5th at the 25th Annual Jimmy Welch Hockey Tournament. This is put on by the Berkshire Rattlers Youth Hockey Program.

“The Rattlers organization is in its 25th year of honoring the memory of Jimmy Welch, a player, coach, scheduler and friend, who played an instrumental role in our program. His parents, Mary Alice and Jim, have continued to support the Rattlers organization through the years. We are dedicated to instilling a deep commitment to sportsmanship and a love of the game in young hockey players. While all teams come to win, it is ultimately the time with our families and friends that makes this tournament so special. “

Event:  25th Annual Jimmy Welch Hockey Tournament

Date:  February 4-5, 2023

Below are the names of the players, their hours and what they did for the tournament. The majority of the kids on our team that volunteered all got their start with hockey by playing for the Berkshire Rattler Youth Hockey program. Included in the pictures is one of Bobby & Paul standing with JJ Schneider & Philip Enoch who are members of the Bantam Rattler team, but also members of our Mt. Everett Eagle team. There are pictures of Tatum with Luca Bascetta. a PeeWee for the Rattler program. Tatum has worn the #15 since he started hockey with the Rattlers and so has Luca. The pictures with all of the #15’s are of Tatum, Luca and Luca’s cousins coming to cheer him on at the tournament.

The athletes did a great job of giving back to their community. I received several messages from members of the Rattler program saying how helpful and polite they were.
