At Team Up 4 Community, we are always inspired by the strength and resilience of our youth athletes. Today, we want to share the story of one such remarkable young woman, Ali Dzenawager. Ali has recently been diagnosed with Classic Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (CHL), and she needs our support more than ever.
Ali is a beacon of positivity and energy, consistently uplifting everyone around her with her infectious smile and unwavering spirit. Whether on the field or in everyday life, Ali has a unique ability to make people laugh and feel loved. Her diagnosis has undoubtedly been a challenging turn of events, but Ali remains steadfast in her determination to fight and continue living her life to the fullest.
In Ali’s own words:
“Hi, my name is Ali Dzenawager, and I am the team captain of Ali’s Army. I started this team because I was recently diagnosed with CHL (Classic Hodgkin’s Lymphoma) and want to be a part of this event to help raise awareness in hopes of one day there is a world without blood cancers. After many sleepless nights, hospital visits, doctor appointments, and more, it was my turn to hear the dreadful words, ‘you have Classic Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.’ I wanted to wake up and have someone tell me it was a bad dream; however, I had to accept that this is my new reality. While finishing my final semester of college as a student teacher, followed by walking across the stage at graduation in May of 2024, I planned to start my master’s degree while teaching this upcoming September. Basically, doing what I love. I will not let lymphoma stop me. I am confident that with all the supportive people in my life, my family, and friends, I can get through this and continue to move on with my education as well as live life, pain-free.”
