About:
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Nov. 10, 2015) – This past Saturday, the LIU Post women’s lacrosse team took time from its weekend to play with disabled children at the Nassau County Police Activity League Special Needs Unit (PALS).
The student-athletes lent a hand with setting up activity stations, which included pop-up tunnels, a basketball hoop, Play-Doh, puzzles, bowling, gymnastics, scooters and dodgeball.
They also joined the children in a group exercise with a rainbow parachute at the conclusion of the day.
“Getting involved with the Special PALS organization was truly a great experience,” said LIU Post women’s lacrosse student-athlete Mikaela Brightman (Holbrook, N.Y.). “Being able to see how comfortable these kids were with us and making them smile was a humbling feeling and enough to put a smile on all of our faces. We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with Special PALS.”
