About:
On September 28, 2023 the General Brown Varsity soccer teams played a double-header, suicide awareness game. The entire soccer program, Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Modified teams, raised $4,800 through the sale of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and suicide awareness tee-shirts, to assist in the fight to end stigma and bring awareness to mental health and suicide. This money was donated to the Tomorrow Needs You Foundation. The General Brown soccer program was able to partner with the Tomorrow Needs You Foundation and the Jefferson County Suicide Prevention Coalition to provide education to the community during the event, as well as long lasting following the game. The Tomorrow Needs You Foundation uses their donations to form community ties, collaborate with local mental health agencies, and provide college scholarships to high school seniors wanting to enter the mental health field. The General Brown soccer program took great pride in this fundraiser and the ability to raise funds and awareness for mental health and suicide education and prevention. No one should ever have to fight alone.
