Students and staff at Gardiners Avenue Elementary School in the Levittown Public School District were dedicated to the cause of breast cancer awareness throughout the month of October by donning pink and raising more than $2,000.
The Gardiners Avenue community, including teachers, staff, students and family members, committed to wearing pink every Friday throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Students designed and crafted pink ribbons, shared personal stories, joined walks and made donations. Fundraising concluded with $2,375 raised for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for breast cancer treatment and prevention research.
