Student Council members at George Washington School in West Hempstead recently partnered with My Very Own Blanket, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing handmade blankets to children in foster care.
During the project, students worked together to carefully tie each blanket by hand and add special labels, ensuring every blanket was made with care and intention. The hands-on experience allowed students to give back in a meaningful way while learning the importance of compassion and service.
The district commends George Washington’s Student Council for their kindness, teamwork, and dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
