On Sept. 11, Hauppauge High School students gathered on the football field to observe Patriot Day. Alongside faculty and staff, they unfurled a massive American flag across the field. As it was held high, the entire student body stood in a unified moment of silence to honor those lost in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The chamber choir, led by Leanne Contino, followed with moving performances of the national anthem and “An Irish Blessing.”
The ceremony served as a powerful tribute to the strength and solidarity of the Hauppauge community, echoing the enduring spirit of a nation coming together in remembrance.
