The Melrose girls and boys soccer programs have shown their dedication to supporting breast cancer awareness through a series of community-focused events this October.
On October 13, 2024, the teams participated in a breast cancer walk in Marblehead, bringing together 50 walkers, including players and their families, to show their support. Just a few days later, on October 18, 2024, both programs hosted a special awareness game, with 40 players taking the field in pink to symbolize their commitment to the cause.
The teams collected donations at the game through sponsorships, with all proceeds going to support breast cancer research and awareness. The collective effort by the girls and boys soccer programs demonstrates their strong sense of community and commitment to making a positive impact both on and off the field.
This initiative serves as a powerful reminder of how sports teams can come together to support meaningful causes, raising awareness and funds to help make a difference.
