Mineola Public Schools congratulates the girls volleyball and soccer teams for their remarkable efforts at raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
The Mineola girls varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams recently led the charge with their Dig Pink games. The gym at Mineola High School was transformed with pink decorations, and the crowd came out in full force to support the cause. Team members created posters with inspirational messages and breast cancer facts which were displayed around the gym to promote awareness.
For 18 years, Mineola girls soccer has proudly supported Breast Cancer Awareness through their annual Think Pink Soccer Game. This year’s event continued that tradition, with the team donning pink socks to raise awareness and selling shirts and raffle tickets to raise funds for local Breast Cancer Awareness initiatives.
The team’s dedication isn’t limited to the field. Players recently joined together in solidary with cancer survivors and fighters and took part in the annual Jones Beach Breast Cancer Walk.
The district is proud to recognize all its athletes on their achievements, both on the field and the court and in their efforts to give back to causes important to the community.
