The Mineola Union Free School District is showing its support for National Diabetes Awareness Month. In November, Hampton Street, Jackson Avenue and Meadow Drive all held outdoor walks to raise awareness. Students and staff at Meadow Drive School also formed the shape of the JDRF donation shoe to display support for the leading global organization funding type one diabetes research. Students at other buildings including Mineola High School wore blue clothing to acknowledge Diabetes Awareness Month.
