In recent weeks, the Pierson High School Interact Club organized a book drive to support the Bridgehampton Child Care Center and a pet food and toy drive for the Southampton Animal Shelter. The students collected hundreds of items for their causes.
“Our students are passionate about making a tangible, positive difference in the community,” said Sue Denis, Pierson Health instructor and adviser to the Interact Club. “The current reality brings a new set of challenges and opportunities, and it’s wonderful to witness their commitment to helping our neighbors on the East End.”
The Pierson High School Interact Club is a service organization for students who volunteer their time to benefit their school and community. Interact is an international organization sponsored by the Rotary Club of Southampton and Rotary International. The word Interact stands for International Action.
