The Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame (SSHOF) and Team Up 4 Community (TU4C) are proud to announce a new partnership to honor the exceptional community service achievements of student-athletes in Suffolk County. This initiative will recognize student-athletes committed to positively impacting their communities through sports.
The partnership aims to inspire middle and high school student-athletes to engage in meaningful community service projects. By spotlighting their contributions, SSHOF and TU4C hope to promote the values of teamwork, leadership, and giving back—cornerstones of athletic and personal development.
Two outstanding student-athletes will be honored each year for their leadership, sportsmanship, and dedication to community service. The awardees will be celebrated at an SSHOF event and receive a physical award to commemorate their achievements.
“This partnership reflects the heart of what sports are all about—building character and creating a better community,” said Chris R. Vaccaro, President of the Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame. “By highlighting the incredible efforts of these student-athletes, we hope to encourage more youth to lead through service.”
“Teaming up with the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame provides a wonderful opportunity to showcase the heart and character of our student-athletes,” said Teresa Webb, Executive Director of Team Up 4 Community. “This partnership goes beyond celebrating their accomplishments — it highlights the power of community service to bring people together, cultivate leadership, and drive meaningful change. We are honored to collaborate in inspiring the next generation to lead with purpose and compassion.”
