Volleyballs fly at TJL

January 29, 2020 By Team Up 4 Community Leave a Comment

At Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School, volleyballs flew through the air as students scrambled beneath them to bump or spike them over the net. On Jan. 23, TJL hosted its annual charity volleyball tournament, where 12 teams competed in a friendly competition to raise money for Harborfields Community Educational Foundation.

Physical education teacher, Michele Turchiano, kicked off the event, thanking the Parent Teachers Association for providing snacks and drinks for the students. Students could also enter a raffle drawing for a chance to win one of several prizes, including sports equipment, an iTunes gift card or even the chance to be assistant principal for the day.

Each team proudly displayed their custom-made t-shirts and had a blast playing against their fellow classmates.
