At Woods Road Elementary School, North Babylon students in Sarah Dawson’s, Ms. White’s and Laura McCarthy’s classes celebrated the 100th day of school by gathering over 100 donations for the school’s Caring Closet, as well as the North Babylon Bulldog Cupboard food pantry.
Thanks to the district’s community partnership with Staples, the district has opened Caring Closets at each of its elementary schools and at Robert Moses Middle School. The closets provide students access to pens, notebooks, binders and other items as needed throughout the day. They are also stocked with backpacks, on-the-go snacks and winter apparel, including hats, gloves, socks and scarves, for children in need.
